David Duchovny (late of "X-Files" fame) writes, directs and stars in this indie vanity project. Duchovny plays an American artist living in Paris who has lots of "issues" to work through. This involves plenty of flashbacks to his coming-of-age days in '70s-era Manhattan. The look is authentic enough, but the story is pure TV movie drama, and the entire thing is pretty much sunk by the mawkish efforts of Robin Williams, who plays a wizened, advice-giving developmentally disabled delivery guy. (God help us all.) 97 minutes
