This surprisingly trashy bit of drugsploitation comes from the wild and woolly era of 1937. Small-town good girl Joan Barrie stands to inherit a fortune from her late grandmother--but only if she fulfills the "morals clause" in the will. Naturally, Joan's greedy cousin Linda does her best to get Joan drunk, pregnant and hooked on "the Devil's weed." Meanwhile, a heroic reporter from "the big city" poses as a soda jerk to uncover the high school dope racket behind it all. Yowza! This classic piece of prewar paranoia is presented as part of "Drug Scare Cinema" night. Also included will be door prizes, a riotous "educational" short from the '60s and testimony from a real live drug "expert." Just say yes!80 minutes Unrated.
