This odd, ultimately mesmerizing 1974 documentary was filmmaker Orson Welles final completed film. Welles started out making a straight documentary about notorious art forger Elmyr de Hory. Soon, he got sidetracked by de Hory's biographer, who attained his own infamy for faking a biography of Howard Hughes. From there, the film spins off into an elaborate meditation on fakes and hoaxes, leading viewers to wonder just how much of this is real and how much is made up by that old practical joker Welles. Part of the Guild's Orson Welles' 90th birthday celebration. 87 minutes Unrated.
