After a few decades in the direct-to-video gutter, George Romero comes roaring back to the series that made him a movie god, the Night of the Living Dead films. In this third sequel (following 1985's Day of the Dead), a gated housing community (lorded over by Dennis Hopper) seals itself off from the zombie-plagued world. Things fall apart (of course), when a group of mercenaries (including comedian/actor John Leguizamo) hired to truck in supplies suddenly decide it's time to move "uptown." Longtime fans can breathe a sigh of relief: All the expected gut-munching gore is here, and the acting is some of the best in the series. 93 minutes R.
