It's been 26 years since they first appeared on the scene. Now them crazy Duke boys are coming to the big screen. Not that anyone really asked them to. This updated adaptation at least gets credit for an amusing cast: American Pie graduate Seann William Scott and "Jackass" Johnny Knoxville as Bo and Luke Duke, Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg, Willie Nelson as Uncle Jessie and Jessica Simpson as Cousin Daisy (well, she doesn't have that many lines). If only the film weren't so low-energy, low-stakes. The comedy is sporadic, the plot incidental and the action merely adequate. It's enough to make you long for the halcyon days of Hal Needham (Smokey and the Bandit, The Cannonball Run, Stroker Ace). 106 minutes PG-13.
