Wondering why times are missing?

Happy Birthday, Wanda June

Kurt Vonnegut's blackly comic play comes to life in this dialogue-laden 1971 film. Rod Steiger plays a macho world explorer who wanders home seven years after abandoning his family (including wife Susanna York) for the wilds of South America. Steiger tries to restablish his dominance over the household, but mom rejects his violent, hormone-driven ways. Odd fantasy sequences and strange characters make this a time-stamped product of the post-'60s era. Double-featured with A Day in the Death of Joe Egg. 105 minutes
