Glenn Close, Holly Hunter, Sissy Spacek, Robin Wright Penn and Dakota Fanning are among the enormous cast of this vignette-filled ensemble drama. The acting is good, of course, and the storytelling is solid; but each tale ends before it's barely begun. Director Rodrigo García (Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her) shoots each segment in one, uninterrupted 10-minute take. Birth, death, life, love: Everything under the sun gets discussed here, but the film never really coalesces into a single film entity. 115 minutes R.
