You can't accuse filmmaker Terrence Malick of rushing into things. In only his fourth directing effort in more than 30 years (after Badlands, Days of Heaven and Thin Red Line) Malick tries for an epic rumination of Native Americans' first clash with English settlers. Basically, this is Disney's Pocahontas (with Colin Farrell as John Smith) shot in a slow, symbolic and very pretty manner. As always, Malick really likes taking pictures of trees. For patient viewers only.160 minutes PG-13.
