This ultra indie film from Suki Hawley and Michael Galinsky first did the roadshow thing in 1994. The no-budget musical drama paints a very realistic (occasionally quite comic) portrait of mid-'90s alternative rock. One day, a directionless Louisville teen spontaneously decides to steal a van belonging to her brother and his pretentious band. She gathers up a couple of friends and hits the road. When the roadtripping pals run out of money, their only avenue is to pick up instruments and start playing--despite the fact that they have absolutely no musical background. The cast of characters from this genuine DIY love letter to indie music includes members of real bands like Ruby Falls, Rodan, The Grifters, Crain and Freakwater.90 minutes Unrated.
