The Valet

French funny guy Francis Veber (The Closet, the Dinner Game, Father's Day, Three Fugitives, My Father the Hero, The Toy, Buddy Buddy, La Cage Aux Folles) directs another broad farce already earmarked for an American remake. This one finds a cheating billionaire (Daniel Auteuil) foisting his hottie mistress (Alice Taglioni) off on a hapless parking valet (Gad Elmaleh) so that his wife (Kristin Scott Thomas) won't find out. Most of the film has the mismatched Elmaleh and Taglioni pretending to live together to throw off the ever-present paparazzi. Like all of Veber's films, the plot is thin and ridiculous and full of endlessly ensuing hijinks. In French with English subtitles. 85 minutes R.
