Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

Kevin Smith (Clerks, Dogma) bids a fond farewell to his New Jersey characters with this riotous, rude, anything goes comedy. Longtime supporting characters Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith) take center stage when they learn a Hollywood movie is being made based on their exploits. The duo set out on a cross-country quest to sabotage the production. Along the way, they encounter sexy jewel thieves, rednecks, sheriffs and a cute orangutan sidekick. It's basically an old Hope and Crosby Road to ... movie with two idiot stoners in the lead roles. Though the film will most appeal to long-time Smith fans who can pick out the dozens of returning characters, the thorough skewering of Hollywood will attract even new fans. There's no socially redeeming value whatsoever to this lowbrow laugh fest; still, you won't find a funnier film all summer. 104 minutes
