Academy Award-winning Director Errol Morris (The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara) spent two years amassing interviews, photographs, military reports and other accounts of torture at U.S.-controlled Abu Ghraib prison. Morris wonders: Were pictures taken by the likes of Army reservist Lynndie England proof of willful, unchecked abuse by American forces; a way for shell-shocked soldiers to cope with unconscionable demands; or a moral decision to document rampant misdeeds by an overzealous few?
