Writer/director James Toback (Two Girls and a Guy, Black and White, Bugsy) tackles something different: an intimate documentary portrait of boxer Mike Tyson. Tyson is surprisingly frank here, owning up to his many flaws and exposing his multiple contradictions. Toback offers little counterpoint to Tyson's story, but he doesn't really need to. Tyson's the-bigger-they-are-the-harder-they-fall narrative is classic American tragedy. 90 minutes R.
