Very quietly written by the hubby-and-wife lit team of Dave Eggers & Vendela Vida and directed by Oscar boy Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Revolutionary Road), this quirky, episodic indie comedy veers close to cliché on many occasions but is uplifted by a sharp cast and some very witty comedy. John Krasinski ( "The Office") and Maya Rudolph ("Saturday Night Live") star as an unmarried couple of thirtysomethings who suddenly find themselves with child. Smacked with the sudden urge to grow the hell up, they set out on a cross-country journey to locate a new home. In visiting assorted insane friends and relatives, they're searching for not so much a place to live as a way to live. Some of the characters come across as quite broad, but there's some delicate acting (particularly from Rudolph) and some endearing good humor.98 minutes R.
