Either you thought Borat was the funniest damn thing ever and spent half of 2006 and most of 2007 whipping out "That's niiiiice!" and "Wow wow wee waa!" at parties (for which you should be soundly slapped) or you found it irritating and mildly offensive. Either way, Brüno isn't much of an improvement. Here, Sacha Baron Cohen breaks out the third, final and weakest of his TV show characters. If Borat was intended to show Americans' xenophobia, then Brüno is intended to show their homophobia. Mostly, though, the film's mix of actual "Punk'd"-style pranks and fake "Punk'd"-style pranks just points out that people are extraordinarily tolerant of other people acting like complete jackasses in front of a camera. 83 minutes R.
