The Stepfather was a smart cult thriller from 1987 about a conservative dude who marries into and then murders families in a quest to find the "perfect" family. Famed crime novelist Donald E. Westlake wrote the original screenplay. Not all that many people know about the film, but it did star Terry O'Quinn (from "Lost") in a perfect, sinister turn and did manage to inspire a couple of sequels. Here's the pointless remake starring Dylan Walsh and Sela Ward. 101 minutes PG-13.
