William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe

Controversial civil rights lawyer William Kunstler is the subject of this documentary, directed--appropriately enough--by his daughters. This one's as much of a history lesson as it is a tribute. It's a must-see for Kunstler's early work as a rabble-rousing champion of the oppressed, working with Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Abbie Hoffman and Leonard Peltier. But it's Kunstler's later work, defending murderers, mobsters and terrorists, that adds a potent twist to this family tale. 85 minutes
