A new screenwriter and director and the same cast as the first made-in-Sweden film do justice to the second book in Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy. Michael Nyqvist is back as Mikael, the crusading journalist. Noomi Rapace is back (with a better haircut) as Lisbeth, the emotionally damaged, bisexual, punk rock, computer hacking genius with the photographic memory. This time around, the duo are investigating a seedy sex trafficking ring with ties to Lisbeth's mysterious past. Oddly enough, they don't actually cross paths until the final few moments, which doesn't exactly do much to advance their relationship. Still, fans of the books will appreciate the moody atmosphere and attention to detail. 129 minutes R.
