Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami (Taste of Cherry, The Wind Will Carry Us) directs Juliette Binoche in this philosophical tale of a middle-aged British art historian (European opera star William Shimell) who hooks up with a French woman (Binoche) while on tour in Italy. The relationship between the two becomes increasingly unclear (Are they strangers? Do they know one another?), allowing Kiarostami to meditate on the nature of reality/illusion, originality/replication. Or something to that effect. It's kinda like Before Sunrise, only ... more European. In English, French and Italian with English subtitles. 106 minutes Unrated.
