Crazy genius German filmmaker Werner Herzog (Aguirre: The Wrath of God, Fitzcarraldo) continues his current love for documentaries (Grizzly Man, Encounters at the End of the World). For this poetic rumination, Herzog got exclusive access to Chauvet in France, site of the world's oldest known cave art. (We're talking 30,000 years here.) Herzog narrates the film, waxing rhapsodic about his awe over the art and his kinship with the unknown artists. And, since he's a crazy genius, he shot it all in 3D. Lovers of art and history shouldn't pass up the chance. 90 minutes G.
