An eccentric twentysomething suffering from Tourette syndrome (star and writer Florian David Fitz) finds himself cooped up in a private mental hospital after his mother dies. Joining forces with his obsessive compulsive roommate (Johannes Allmayer) and a cute anorexic (Karoline Herfurth from We Are the Night and The Reader), our protagonist escapes and goes on one of those life-affirming road trips. Since it's across the Alps, this one's particularly picturesque. The story is transparently formulaic, and the film's treatment of mental illness is mostly sanitized. Still, the movie is optimistic and amusing enough to qualify as a real art house crowd-pleaser.
