Much like the Men in Black series, the Mission: Impossible films have been hugely popular, star-studded blockbusters with universally indecipherable scripts. Hasn't slowed them down any. This time around, the directing reins are handed over to Brad Bird (The Incredibles), who at least knows how to mold the generic script into a live-action cartoon. The result is the best of the lot, a kinetic action vehicle that finds Tom Cruise and his death-depleted gang of superspies on the run from a crime they didn't commit. 133 minutes PG-13.
