Robot & Frank

Frank Langella stars as a long-retired, borderline senile cat burglar. When his kids (Liv Tyler and James Marsden) buy a robot caretaker for the old guy, however, some of his former habits kick in. He reprograms his new robot pal to engage in a little larcenous behavior. Playful and touching, this near-future fable charms with its realistic, low-key look at technology and our relationship with it. Special kudos to Peter Sarsgaard (Boys Don't Cry, An Education) as the voice of "Robot." 89 minutes PG-13.
