Nuclear Savage

Twenty years after he shot his first documentary in the Marshall Islands, filmmaker Adam Jonas Horowitz returns to complete his ethnographic portrait of the South Pacific islanders. Years after the Cold War, many of these people still struggle for dignity and survival after their islands were used as nuclear testing grounds by the U.S. military. Relying on recently declassified government documents, devastating survivor testimony and previously unseen archival footage, Horowitz deconstructs a fascinating mystery about human guinea pigs and our country's shocking nuclear legacy. The director himself will be on hand for a Q&A. 87 minutes (Opens Tuesday 11/13)
