Anthony Hopkins pastes on the jowls and adopts the drawling accent to play famed filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock. Helen Mirren is Alma Reville, Hitch's wife and the lynchpin to his success. The film recounts the troubled, behind-the-scenes story of making the 1960 thriller Psycho. Hopkins and Mirren are wonderful together, but the film doesn't have much heft to it. There are hints of marital strife and a bit of professional struggle. But we all know how Psycho turned out, so there's not a great deal of drama to the story. 98 minutes PG-13.
