Matthew Fox ("Lost") stars in this watered-down historical drama as U.S. Army official Bonner Fellers, the guy tasked in the wake of World War II with deciding if Japanese Emperor Hirohito should be hanged as a war criminal. Unfortunately, the script makes up a cross-cultural love affair between Fellers and a Japanese exchange student, which only serves to bog down the important story. At least Tommy Lee Jones is on hand to phone in his cameo as General Douglas MacArthur. 98 minutes PG-13.
