This newest, hand-animated period piece from Japan's Studio Ghibli is directed by Goro Miyazaki, son of the grand master Hayao Miyazaki (My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke). It's a gentle, nostalgic look back at a group of teens growing up in Yokahama during the summer of 1963. They're trying to save their clubhouse from being demolished to make room for the 1964 Olympics. The story's inconsequential, but the mood and tone are beautiful. Sarah Bolger ("Once Upon a Time"), Anton Yelchin (Star Trek) and Christina Hendricks ("Mad Men") are among the American voice cast. 91 minutes PG.
