Wondrously intimate filmmaker Nicole Holofcener (Friends with Money, Please Give, Lovely & Amazing, Walking and Talking) creates another little gem. Julia Louis-Dreyfus stars as a divorced mother who decides it's time to start dating again. She finds the perfect candidate in good-natured divorcé James Gandolfini (sadly, his last screen performance). All seems hunky-dory until our protagonist figures out the guy is her new best friend's ex-husband. The setup is pure rom-com, but Holofcener knows how to create an awkward situation, and her veteran cast knows how to milk it. Sweet, perceptive and quiet witty. 93 minutes PG-13.
