Who's in the mood for another dumbed-down, modern retelling of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet? This one's written by Julian Fellowes ("Downton Abbey") and directed by Carlo Carlei (whose last theatrical feature was 1995's Fluke, in which Matthew Modine is reincarnated as a dog). This version was actually shot in Verona, but dumps all of Shakespeare's crappy dialogue, because who needs that jazz? Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) and Douglas Booth (LOL) are our doomed lovers. Oops, that counts as a spoiler alert for those who didn't graduate high school. 118 minutes PG-13.
