One Million Bones Special Event
On June 8, 2013, the Albuquerque-based project One Million Bones constructed an installation of a million handcrafted, papier-mâché bones in front of the US Capitol as a "visible petition" against ongoing genocides and mass atrocities. A short film about the event was commissioned to honor more than 150,000 people who participated. Now the organizers are unveiling the film in a free public screening. Participants in the historic event will be on hand to share their stories as well.
