The deaky is extremely freaky in this "Twilight Zone"-esque sci-fi mindbender. Three brainy college kids on a cross-country trip to California make a detour to hunt down a troublesome computer hacker hidden somewhere in the Southwestern desert. Then Laurence Fishburne shows up in a hazmat suit, and things get really weird. The less you know going in, the better. Like other mindbenders before it ("Lost," Cube), the script explains most of the "what" if not all of the "why." It's not the most substantial piece of science fiction ever made, but it leaves a strong impression that writer-director William Eubank is a man on the move.95 minutes PG-13.
