A Nous la Liberté

This famous "left-wing satirical comedy" came out of France in 1931. In it, an ex-convict (Raymond Cordy) works his way up from a salesman to the owner of a highly-mechanized factory--and then gives it away to the workers. This was embroiled in a lawsuit for more than a decade on the claim that Charlie Chaplin plagiarized many ideas from it for his film Modern Times. Appropriately, it's double-featured with Modern Times. 97 minutes Unrated.
