A no-nonsense American gal (Drew Barryore) learns her wild-child British bestie (Toni Collette) has breast cancer. There's a lot of crying and commisserating and a bit of laughing. But director Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) and screenwriter Morwenna Banks ("Absolutely") can't seem to come up with anything very original or flavorful to say about the situation.
