Described as a "not-quite-documentary," this artfully assembled film explores people trying to survive on the fringes of today's pre-apocalyptic society. On the "above" side of things, we have a woman enrolled in the Mars Desert Research Station, a remote scientific outpost in Utah training people to one day live on Mars. On the "below" side of the equation, there's a homeless couple bunking down in the flood tunnels of Las Vegas. The film's other subjects are similarly isolated dwellers on the outskirts. 118 minutes Unrated.
