This admittedly one-sided documentary aims to present a different view of infamous Communist leader Fidel Castro. The film examines Castro's impact on the Americas, the former Soviet Union, the Caribbean and Africa. This cut-and-paste history starts with Castro's childhood and follows him through to his place as the world's last great revolutionary. Among those interviewed or presented in archival footage are celebrity endorsers Ted Turner, Muhammad Ali, Harry Belafonte, Angela Davis and Gabriel García Márquez. Director Estela Bravo obviously glosses over some of the nastier aspects of Castro's reign, but offer up an interestingly human snapshot of the man behind the propaganda (who knew he loved basketball?). 91 minutes
