Natalie Portman puts a great deal of effort into her mannered portrayal of Jackie Kennedy in this tight biopic, which looks in on the First Lady in the immediate aftermath of her husband's assassination. The story jumps around a lot in time and place, but that keeps it from becoming your standard-issue historical drama. Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larraín (Tony Manero, No, The Club) captures a tantalizing intellectual moment when, in the midst of tragedy, Jackie created the myth of Camelot.
