In the wake of World War I, shell-shocked author A.A. Milne (Domnhall Gleeson) retreats to the countryside where he fathers a son with his young wife (Margot Robbie). Though the upper middle-class parents frequently foist their boy off on a dedicated nanny, Milne finds an imaginative collaborator in young Christopher Robin (astonishing newcomer Will Tilston). Before long, dad's fanciful tales of stuffed animals come to life are delighting the world in the form of storybook fave Winnie-the-Pooh. Sadly, the fame and fortune this visits on the family only enforces the estrangement between father and son. A wonder-filled, emotion-packed reminder of the joys of childhood and the attendant pains of growing up.FULL REVIEW:Literary biopic explores bonds and barriers between fathers and sons by Devin D.
