Yes! I've been a meatball fan through thick and thin, and now Technomic, one of the leading food research firms, is saying that meatballs were the food trend of 2016. Vindication!

Fires Still Hurting Local Businesses

Some local businesses have yet to pick back up where they left off after last month's crazy rash of fires (one of which was confirmed as an act of arson). Ragin' Shrimp (3624 Central SE) owner Nicholas Nellos says he hasn't even been allowed back onsite, and the losses have been catastrophic.

Masa Shortage?

Speaking of fires messing up everything, a fire in Las Cruces at the La Bonita Mexican Food Products factory might screw up masa production and leave our neighbors with a holiday tamale shortage. I don't want to suggest that you should lock your masa up this year, but I will imply it.

Allergy Labels No Good, Says Report

A report released by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine says that allergy warning labels on food products need to be reworked. According to the report, the current warnings are too confusing and could lead to unintended illness.
