I love all the small towns of New Mexico, but there is perhaps none I love better than Truth or Consequences—the deeply chill spa town just a couple hours south of Albuquerque. After last weekend, though, I think I may love it a little bit more.

T or C Brewing Company, the first brewery in the town known for its hot springs spas, just released its first homemade beer. It’s a blonde ale they’re calling Cosmic Blonde, and it’s described as a smooth-drinking, malt-oriented American beer. You can only get a taste of it by taking a trip down to the brewery itself for now.

T or C Brewing Co. was opened by John Masterson, a craft brewer who moved to our fair state from Seattle last year. Up in the Pacific Northwest, Masterson had been brewing for the past 10 years—and winning a couple of awards along the way. Since its opening in June, T or C Brewing Co. has been serving other New Mexico craft brews as they worked on perfecting their own batches. Masterson hopes that his establishment will add to the culture and nightlife of the little town.

The brewery and drafthouse can be found at 410 N Broadway, right in the middle of downtown. Their hours are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 3-10pm. T or C Brewing Co. is planning an Oktoberfest-themed Grand Opening celebration on Oct. 20-22, so mark your calendars and plan on being there to enjoy local food, beer and music.
