Once upon a time—20 years ago to be exact—the city of Burque lit up the BioParkBotanic Gardens with a festival of lights calling it the River of Lights, making it New Mexico’s largest light show. It’s not the holiday season in New Mexico until you find yourself surrounded by light sculptures of all shapes and sizes with a hot cider between your cold hands. Bring the family, take your sweetie or even take your friends on a date. Adult tickets are only $12 and tickets for kids are $6. Aside from being closed on Dec. 24-25, the event lasts until Dec. 30, so go more than once from 6-9:30pm to really soak up the holiday spirit.
