corn on the cob and baked potatoes in the chimnea. [ Sun Jul 12 2009 9:03 PM ]
I cooked outside tonight to avoid heating up the house. I made a big roaring fire in the chimnea, then when it died down to coals I threw in potatoes and corn on the cob, both wrapped in foil. The ears had some butter on them and were wrapped back up in their husks inside the foil. The potatoes were in for about an hour and the ears about half that. Perfection on both. I don't think I've ever had a more perfectly done baked potato, and the corn... well, I think it was just really good, sweet corn to begin with, but it was also perfectly cooked.
Then I made steaks on the regular grill. I could have done them in the chimnea, too, but it would have been a scramble.
