Clara Driscoll and the Tiffany Girls

Classy, glassy ladies star in whodunit art history mystery

By Chiquita Paschal
Driscoll made iconic contributions to the Tiffany legacy and the art nouveau movement—efforts that virtually no one knew were hers until a few years ago.

A New Light on Tiffany: Clara Driscoll and the Tiffany Girls focuses not only on Driscoll’s works themselves, but on the historical context of her life and the women's glass department (also known as the Tiffany Girls) that constructed the lamps.

Southwest Gay & Lesbian Film Festival

By Devin D. O'Leary
Out actor/comedian Tom Lenk (star of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” The Cabin in the Woods and Transformers) is the special guest at this year's 13th Annual Southwest Gay & Lesbian Film Festival. He'll be talking about his “dorkumentary” Nerdgasm, in which he travels to England to fulfill his lifelong dream of performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe—while indulging nerdy British fantasies like following in the footsteps of Harry Potter. SWGLFF starts Friday, Oct. 9, at Guild Cinema with Peter Greenaway's lush Opening Night drama Eisenstein in Guanajuato. It runs through Oct. 18 with 26 LGBT-centric dramas, comedies, documentaries, romances and horror films from around the world plus six blocks of shorts. Nerdgasm will screen Saturday, Oct. 17, at 9:15pm.
