great choices on some pretty cool books! Merge records dominated the independent music scene for a long time in the 1990's so its great to see a book w/CD come out abut them! The Velvet Underground, the supposed band that spawned a new band for every copy of their albums sold, deserve an entire section in your local library just as a lesson that going against the mainstream musical trends can be productive. The Heavy Rotation book looks like great bus or bathroom reading! Keep on reviewing these awesome tomes! |
