Blessed are your eyes, Pamela, for they see.  [ Mon Apr 20 2009 9:18 AM ]

The following message was just emailed to me through the Strong City website. It is from someone we have never heard from before, but who has the spiritual eyesight to understand the truth about the whole story just from reading on the Alibi. We didn't have to explain anything to her.

The article would have better been named "Blessed are the Pure in Heart".

I have years of experience with sexual crazies. This man is not a sexual crazy. He may be crazy with the Love of God, but not with sex. It looks to me like God put it in his heart to do what he did, even tho he knew he may get in trouble, as a witness to this jaded world. He showed us a pure heart. The world has forgotten this truth. We needed to witness it in this man and his followers.

Be strong. Praise God. Please share this with the Alibi.

With You in Jesus

stratcatz, I don't recommend that the high school janitor, or anyone else for that matter, be alone with naked girls. Very few people understand the soul preparation and knowledge that is required to heal someone in that manner. With that said, it is not illegal for a minor to be unclothed in the presence of an adult.

You ask, "Doesn't this look like grooming?" I can't help what people imagine it to look like, but no, it is not "grooming". There was a very significant healing that occurred as a result of Wayne Bent's non-sexual touch that both Healed and Willow can testify to.

You ask where in the Bible there is an example of naked healing. When King David was old and infirm he had difficulty maintaining his body heat. A young virgin by the name of Abashag was brought in to lie naked with him in bed to "heal" him of his hypothermic condition. It is recorded in the Old Testament that their encounters were non-sexual.

I don't fault you for your opinions or point of view, but I think you are uninformed and are reacting from ignorance of the facts, and of the Bible that you refer to. Best wishes.

By what standard?  [ Fri Apr 17 2009 6:32 PM ]

stratcatz, with all due respect, by what standard to you make these judgments? By claiming something "is wrong" we are relying on some sort of belief system to support that, aren't we?

Are you judging by State law? The witnesses said he did not touch the area defined by law, so that is out.

Are you judging by Judeo-Christian teachings as defined in the Bible? The laying on of hands is a practice taught by the Bible, and in the Old Testament a child was brought back to life after a prophet laid outstretched on top of his body in his bedroom. The State of New Mexico would have had a cow over that one. Jesus, who claimed to be the messiah, asked everyone to leave a room so he could be alone with a young girl who had died so he could bring her back to life. Who knows what he did in there alone with her. I guess we can't judge Wayne by Judeo-Christian values.

Do we judge according to broadly held cultural norms? I think my dad would plead guilty to offending people and stepping outside of cultural norms (as Ghandi did when he laid naked with young girls), but we don't throw people in prison for violating cultural taboos, do we? At least we don't claim to do that.

Rumors?  [ Fri Apr 17 2009 11:19 AM ]

I would like to speak to Disappointed. Why would you form your opinions based on rumors? If it were me I would want to learn some facts, and connect with the people involved as human beings to learn their perspective, before adopting such sweeping judgments about them. If Maren wrote her article according to rumors and the biases and false perceptions you have demonstrated, then "alternative weekly" would be as empty a claim as the phrase, "We report, you decide."

Before coming out, Maren pledged to write an article that would allow the members of Strong City to tell their story in their owns words, and to leave it at that. She kept her word to us.
