Would it be ok with you if the janitor at the local jr. high school was alone with underage, naked girls? Do you have to give up all common sense when you follow Wayne? Does Wayne's religion involve sex(consumation)? Doesnt this look like grooming so he can consumate with these girls at some later time? Do you know that there are many other people out there who claim to be Christ returned? Most of them have many, many more followers.
Even if you take religion completely out of this picture, what Wayne did was still wrong. The more you look into this story, the crazier it gets. All through history, people have been vulnerable enough to worship pretty much anything you can think of, and a lot of them were willing to die for it. Maybe its easier than admitting you were wrong.
I have always heard that there are 3 sides to every story. Now that you have published Strong City's side of the story, would you now do a story from the point of view of former-cult members? Then maybe your readers could weigh both sides and hopefully find the truth. |
