CommentsRe: Ash and Ember
up in smoke [ Thu Mar 13 2008 11:25 AM ]
It's truly sad and unfortunate that the local -and national- music scene has currently lost 3 venues from this disaster. What is even more unfortunate is the political favoritism that is being so blatantly thrown about. Mayor Marty and his "new Albuquerque" team should be helping Joe Anderson and the Launchpad with just as much conviction and dedication as they are showing Kathy Zimmerman. Not exactly a great way to instill confidence and community among the downtown business owners-- happily broadcast help in favor of the responsible party while ignoring the sideline victim. Kathy Zimmerman should give some of her new financial donations to her neighbor to help repair the damage she inadvertently caused to his business. Re: Applied Ludology
...but where's Bud Melvin? [ Mon Jul 16 2007 3:48 PM ]
This is a great article, but it's sad to see that you overlooked Albuquerque's very own 8-bit trail-blazer and gameboy legend, Bud Melvin. With shows across the U.S. and Europe, performances at New York's Blip Festival and Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art, and sporting a host of gameboy infused albums, Bud also does 8-bit generated art. Would have been a perfect -and local- resource for your article. |
