Sahara serves various Middle Eastern dishes in a brightly painted restaurant accented by camels. The menu is straightforward, listing expected meats and purées and several vegetarian dishes. Meats come either in a sandwich or combo platter, which are loaded with enough sides to appease the most voracious appetites. The falafel totally rocks the Casbah, as do the chicken dishes, the velvety hummus and the beautifully composed salads. Don’t forget to get a nice, hot cup of spice-infused tea. Chicken shwarma combo plate. The chicken had this garlic sauce stuff on it that I haven't tasted since Zankoo Chicken in L.A. Salad, hummus, pita, chicken, rice, dolmas, pink pickled vegetable spear, all excellent and sized right for eleven bucks.
They also make jalub, which is rosewater sweetend with date syrup. It's like middle eastern sweet tea. And they make their own salted yogurt drink. That's, uh, drinkable, salted yogurt. With some lemon juice in it. Maybe that's not for you, but I likes it.
Aaaand the baklava is buttery. Two palm trees up.
