***APPLY AT #0836389*** ---SALARY: $5,687.64 to $8,531.47 per month ---JOB SUMMARY: The UNM Midwifery Division is seeking an energetic individual to join our well-established midwifery practice for a long-term position. We provide full scope in-patient care at the University Hospital and clinical care at off-site clinics. Under indirect supervision, we provide patient care and education to assigned caseload of obstetrical and gynecological patients in accordance with established midwifery practice guidelines. We educate midwifery, medical and nursing students, and nursing and resident staff in normal child birth. Midwives in our division care for a diverse population and are active in education, professional development, and clinical research. We seek candidates who are committed to the diverse population we serve. The ideal candidate would have stellar interpersonal communication skills, function well on a team and be available to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Spanish language skills highly desirable. We are looking for an experienced midwife, but would consider a new graduate who speaks Spanish. We are currently recruiting for 1 full time and 1 part time opening. This is a benefits eligible position. See the Prospective Employee page for a more complete explanation of UNM benefits. ---MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Master's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities, which may include practicum. A New Mexico Department of Health CNM License (or eligible). A valid license that meets the New Mexico Board of Nursing's requirement to practice as a registered nurse in New Mexico (or eligible). Participation in the Certificate Maintenance Program with the American Midwifery Certification Board (or eligible). ---PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bilingual Spanish speaker Experience preferred, but will consider new graduate with Spanish speaking skills Be available to work a flexible schedule including nights Be willing to travel to offsite clinical site 36 miles away from UNMH. Candidates for this position must be eligible for employment as verified by the US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) and the Government Services Administration (GSA); those individuals on the OIG/GSA Exclusion Lists will not be considered for hire. Once hired, periodic checks will be made for eligibility of continued employment.
