PROGRAMMER ANALYST 2***Apply at UNMJobs.unm.edu, Posting #08364000*** ---SALARY: $3,434.31 min to $4,291.65 mid/monthly--- ---POSITION SUMMARY--- Under general supervision, provides technical expertise in Geographic Information Technology (GIT), including, but not limited to, remote sensing (RS), geographic information systems (GIS), and global positioning systems (GPS). Develops databases and creates, analyzes, and/or processes spatial and non-spatial biological conservation and related data. Performs application design, programming, modeling, and provides support for computer-based GIT mapping and related statistical software. Administers selected grant-funded projects, and provides technical and administrative leadership to a team of GIT staff and/or students. NHNM is hiring a GIS coordinator to: Manage the extensive GIS information we house, Manage GIS technicians as needed, Perform GIS modeling and remote sensing analysis, Create and maintain GIS websites including updating website data and publishing web services, Stay current and advise on GIS software options and techniques, Install and maintain GIS related software working with the NHNM system administrator, Connect to and create relational databases, Advise and assist with project proposals, Teach and assist staff with GIS software and techniques. ---INSTITUTIONAL COMMITMENT--- The University of New Mexico is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
