HR CONSULTANT

The University of New Mexico Division of Human Resources offers a rewarding career opportunity for the position of Human Resources Consultant. The successful candidate will be a business partner to a set of clients on all Human Resources practices, policies, and procedures, including employee relations, FMLA, ADA, performance management, employee engagement and retention, recruitment, staffing, compensation, and training. As a Business Partner, the successful candidate will assist in the development of initiatives that will enable the organization to achieve its strategic goals, and will partner with leadership teams to implement organization-wide initiatives. The individual selected for this position will be an active participant in work teams that develop and improve processes, programs, strategies, policies/procedures, and/or recommendations. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with: • Investigating and analyzing complex HR issues. • The full life-cycle of employees to include hiring practices, employee coaching, and employee relations. • Applying employee relations principles, practices, legal and regulatory requirements, and analytical skills sufficient to advise management about appropriate disciplinary or other corrective techniques that are responsive to a range of conduct and performance problems. • Current HRCI, SHRM, or other HR Certification. • Demonstrated experience developing solutions to problems that require a degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation. Must be capable of serving and educating front-line and mid-level leaders and hiring managers. • Serving as the resident HR expert by providing guidance on HR matters; responding to routine HR inquiry actions; ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, and; communicating changes to HR procedures and policies. • Proven ability to influence and build strong, collaborative working relationships with colleagues and customers; strong consultative, interpersonal, and leadership skills. • Applicant tracking systems and HR/Payroll systems. • Supplying guidance on federal and state laws to inlcude but not limited to FMLA, FLSA, ADA. $3,434.31 to $4,700 monthly Please apply at: https://unm.csod.com/ats/careersite/jobdetails.aspx?site=1&c=unm&id=1476
